As one of the longest clinically practicing kinesiologists in Ontario, David Sewell started his kinesiology consulting company in 2000.
Since then David has lent his expertise in the application of human movement to public school boards, insurers, law firms, public utilities, the Canadian Forces, WSIB and The March of Dimes, to name a few. When kinesiology became a regulated health profession in Ontario, David decided to open Leslieville Kinesiology.
As a member of the Ontario Kinesiology Association, David spent two years volunteering as the Greater Toronto Area Regional Group Chair, where he collaborated with the Institute for Work and Health. He also worked with the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance's Practice Standards Committee, working towards establishing best practice guidelines for kinesiologists performing functional testing.
David has been coaching competitive swimmers for more than 30 years.
As an athlete, David swam competitively for 15 years, where he qualified for national championships, competed in triathlons, and traveled across North America and Europe competing in Ironman races. He also raced in 24-hour mountain bike challenges and competed in Adventure Racing / Eco-Challenge Canada races, placing 3rd in the 2001 Adventure Racing Canada Championship.
David is dedicated to making "exercise as medicine" a reality for his clients, and bettering the community where he lives and works.
